Test after the Break

There will be a unit test after the Teachers convention break that students will need to study for. It is on the Unit structures and forces which in in the text, a great resource for studying.

The actual test will be on the Tuesday after they get back.

jan - week 3

Well we've spent some time building structures, in particular towers and that work is done. I have pictures I can email if you like, just comment that you would like them.

As for school work, students were given some work that seemed to be incomplete today. about half the class. They were given an second sheet today that is due for Monday. This means they will likely have homework over the weekend.

jan - week 2

Students were given a sheet on mass and weight that will be due next week monday. Ask them what's the different between mass and weight.

jan - week 1

Students were assigned a page about different structures. Most of them finished in class. They can work ahead and finish the whole sheet for bonus marks.

Christmas holidays

Well the holidays are near and we are in the beginning of a new unit. There will be no homework over Christmas, but feel free to talk with your child about the new unit, structures and forces.

- ask them about things around the house "is it manufactured or natural?" "Do you think this thing is well designed? Why?" "What would make this better?"

These kinds of questions will get them in the right mindset.

December - here we go

This is the first posting for Science 7! A note to parents, you can subscribe to the website by entering your email to the left. It will email you when changes are made to this site. I've already entered the email addresses of those people who asked to be emailed.

Alright here is the meat....

Unit Exam - Heat and Temperature. This is on Dec 8th. Most students will need to study and review material will be out this week.
